The Penguin armchair by Theo Ruth for Dutch manufacturer Artifort is one of the icons of Dutch design from 1957. Composed by two seperable parts, the backrest and the seat can be assembled at the desired angle of comfort. Characterized by its curved legs, the Penguin also offers added comfort to its Congo sister thanks to its pleasant armrests. These pieces have been reuphostered in a yellow and white wool fabric. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
