This is an exquisite 19th century high back Windsor armchair, displaying beautiful Victorian period features. This armchair displays a beautiful rich Beech & Elm patina to the back slats, armrests and seating, only seen in quality period furniture. This beautiful armchair has long back slats which connect to the upper back rail to create a comfortable backrest. Joined to the turned side rails of the backrest are the wonderful open armrests, that are supported by two turned spindles. Leading down this armchair has a delightful square seat that has been upholstered in a padded yellow and red patterned seat, with a metal pinned boarder to finish. Proudly stood on four outward splayed turned legs, connected by a lower double H-frame stretcher, providing solid structure and support for this wonderful armchair. This Victorian armchair would add warmth to a farmhouse home living, dining rooms, kitchen, or hallway settings. Overall, this Victorian armchairs is in excellent antique condition, with slight signs of use and veneer wear, as to be expected from years of age (see photographs).
