In the same sleek and functional Bauhaus style, Mücke-Melder produced tables , desks , and casegoods , as well as some licensed updates of Thonet designs, often favoring tubular steel and finishes of copper, nickel, and chrome. An emblematic selection of Mücke-Melder’s oeuvre includes the chrome-plated tubular steel FN 21 Famos Armchair (1930), which owes its form, unmistakably, to Mies van der Rohe’s iconic cantilevered Brno Chair, designed ca. 1929-1930 for his nearby and renowned Tugendhat House in Brno, Czech Republic.
