A pair of solid oak armchairs in a restrained Brutalist style, dating to the mid-20th century. The design combines robust construction with subtle sculptural detailing, typical of Northern European craftsmanship of the period. Each chair features a gently arched crest rail above a series of shaped vertical slats, giving the backrest a sense of rhythm and movement. The broad armrests are supported by distinctive side panels with cut-out detailing, adding both visual interest and a handcrafted character. The frames are grounded by thick, square legs, reinforcing the chairs’ solid, architectural presence. The seats are upholstered in a patterned fabric, likely later, which we recommend to change. We can provide an upholstery service. The overall composition balances comfort with a strong, utilitarian aesthetic. Seat height 38cm
