Traditional Chinese horseshoe chair in natural wood features elegant curves, a woven seat, an intricate fretwork carving on the back splat, carved apron, and stretchers. The horseshoe-back armchair (quanyi) originated in China during the Ming dynasty (1368-1644), and the style is still in production today. This piece, we believe, is from the early to mid 20th century.
