Extraordinary antique bridal cupboard made of pine dating from 1845. This cupboard has a simple design but is beautifully painted in a red-brown color with floral decorations in the panels. The upper panels also show the wedding date of the previous owner. This copy is still in good condition considering its age, although there are of course some light signs of use. Including sporadically some old woodworm traces which have of course been checked and treated and the paint is also somewhat worn in some places. All in all a very characteristic specimen. The interior of the cupboard is still original with a drawer, shelves, coat hooks and a rod. There is also a secret storage compartment hidden behind the drawer. The cabinet still has the original working lock and key. In the past, it was customary to give bridal furniture like this as a gift to the couple at a wedding. This furniture was subsequently placed on the farm in a stately room that was only rarely used for high-ranking visitors or special occasions. A beautiful and decorative piece of history.
