A 1950's Italian blown triangular Murano glass ashtray by Dino Martens. The multi-color ashtray has a rounded triangular shape with a scalloped edge and silver leaf applications in the glass.Corrado "Dino" Martens (1894 - 1970) was an Italian painter and glass designer. A graduate of the Accademia delle Belle Arti di Venezia, Martens exhibited his painting in the Venice Biennale between 1924 and 1930. His association with Aureliano Toso began in 1939 after finishing his military service in Africa. A bold designer who respected the traditional techniques of Murano glass, Martens was constantly challenging the glass artisans with his audacious creations.
