German artist Marianne Brandt was the only woman to have worked in the Metallwerkstatt of the Bauhaus. Here, her work is brought to life by Italian brand Alessi in the shape of this stainless steel ashtray, which transcends its practical purpose to become a centrepiece thanks to its seamless lines, sculptural form and striking silhouette.
