This elegant piece of mid-century Italian furniture was designed using the relatively new process at that time of steam-bending plywood. The process was pioneered by designers such as Gio Ponti and Paulo Buffa in the 1950's. Working closely with firms such as La Permanente. Paulo Buffa was able to put his innovative designing skills into practice. This piece has all the hall-marks of one of his designs, using the steam-bent wood for the unusual legs, the prestigious burr walnut, and the original glass crystal handles. The cabinet was designed when the trend for cocktails and record players was all the rage. There is still the glass mosaic interior and the original record deck in the furniture. Although showing small signs of use, it is still a useful, compact, beautifully proportioned piece of retro furniture. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
