Original French counter from the first half of the 20th century. Its robust structure is made entirely of unvarnished solid oak. The piece has chamfered corners on the front. The front and sides are decorated with carved panels. Its surface is bordered by a small, turned oak baluster. The baluster is cut in the center to accommodate an oval, fluted brass coin tray inset into the wooden surface. The surface also features two hinged panels that, when folded down, reveal a chest of drawers. The back of the unit has several shelves at the bottom and two lockable drawers at the top. One is large, and the other is small, designed for cash and therefore triggers a bell when opened. It is ideal as a counter or ticket window in a business or even as a bar cabinet in a home.
