Dry Martini Bar Stool By Pedro Miralles For Akaba, 1980s, Set Of 4

Chairish

$1,550

The set consists of four stools. Condition: Metal frame, seats upholstered in black leather. Good used condition with age-appropriate signs of wear. Pedro Miralles was a Spanish architect and industrial designer. He also worked as a film set designer and actor. Miralles earned his architecture degree from the Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura (ETSAV) in Valencia. His designs combined postmodern aesthetics with functionalism. During his time in Madrid, he was part of the Madrid Movida movement. The Movida madrileña was an urban cultural movement of the early post-Franco era, whose most famous member was the film director Pedro Almodóvar. Fueled by the newfound freedom after Franco's death, the movement embodied exuberance and hedonism. The "Dry Martini" bar stools by Miralles, offered here in 1985, stand squarely in this tradition. I have official proof of authenticity such as vintage catalogs, designer records, or other literature sources and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
