This massive Short Leaf Pine died on our family farm in 2023. Before we cut it down, we had the Arkansas Department of Forestry come in and measure the tree. The tree measured out at 130 feet tall and a circumference of 13.1 feet around making it the largest short leaf pine in North America. The tree was identified and aged by the University of Arkansas at 203 years. We cut this massive tree into 16 foot single slab live edge boards and placed them in a kiln dryer. The largest two boards of the tree were cut out of the heart and made into tables. These tables are nearly identical. The first one will be kept with the family and the second one will be sold. The table that is for sale is 196 inches long, 42 inches wide on one end, 46 inches wide on the other end, and 3.25 inches thick. This table is currently sitting on bar height steel legs that make it 43 inches tall. Shorter legs can be made to bring it down to dining table height. The table will be branded on the bottom side with William George Riley Hamptons (WGR) cattle brand from the late 1800's. WGR was likely the first Hampton to ever see this tree. The table will also be marked with a serial number and stamped with a signed plate by Alton Rick Hampton on the bottom side to verify it’s authenticity.
