Crafted by woodworkers in Tosaryu, Japan, this bath mat is made from Hinoki, a cypress wood native to central Japan that is naturally resistant to humidity and rot, and repels water. The wood is known for its antimicrobial qualities and will bring a natural and pleasant citrus scent to your bathroom. The artisans of Tosaryu have utilized their technique of “monotsukuri,” a method that enhances the quality and function of the Hinoki wood. The wood is dried for three to six months before use. This maintains the fragrant, oil-rich and sturdy composition of the wood.
