This vanity dressing table, model 1134, was produced by jacob & josef kohn of vienna, the foremost viennese manufacturer of bentwood furniture and the principal commercial partner for secession-era design. authenticity is confirmed by the original jacob & josef kohn manufacturer's label, still present on the underside of the shelf. the piece dates to circa 1906 and reflects hoffmann's characteristic approach: geometric clarity, refined proportion, and the disciplined use of bentwood as both structural and aesthetic material. The tall, open frame in brown-stained bentwood beech carries a large swivelling mirror with a bevelled edge, height-adjustable and mounted between two characteristic ball finials — a recurring formal motif in hoffmann's furniture vocabulary. A small drawer with a ball-shaped handle sits below the mirror shelf, providing discreet storage. the piece is functional, elegant, and entirely consistent with the formal language of wiener secession design at its height. condition is consistent with a genuine antique of this age.
