A solid walnut dressing table in the Louis XVI style. It features a large, rounded mirror with beveled edges at the top corners. The mirror is flanked by two storage units: one cupboard and one drawer, each topped with a marble slab. The doors have bronze pendant handles in the shape of a laurel wreath. The shelves are adjustable on a rack system, and the drawers are dovetailed with bronze knobs. The polished marble tops are smooth and glossy, in shades of pink and garnet. The entire piece is crafted from solid blond walnut with discreet carvings of flowers and pearls. It is very stable, with eight legs in total. This dressing table, with its lovely rounded curves, dates from the 1950s and is in the Art Nouveau style. It has been fully cleaned and treated. A functional and well-organized piece with smooth opening and closing mechanisms. The mirror measures 84 x 40 cm. This charming piece of furniture comes from a large bedroom in a mid-20th-century house in a small town in the south of France. It is of high quality craftsmanship.
