18th. Century Italian baroque painted bench, c.1750 These were originally made for wealthy families as statement pieces for their palaces and large estates. This bench features classic Italian hand painted floral motifs in muted ochre, greens and red accents. The back is elaborately shaped with curved scrollwork. The base is gently tapered out for a pleasing visual. Solid construction throughout. Signs of age wear, paint wear and in-painting over time. Recently waxed and polished.
