Early 19th century hand carved oak bench from France. The seat is wonderfully scalloped and has a shaped and beveled edge, following down to a hand scalloped and carved decorated apron. The apron is also carved on both sides of the bench for easy placement in a room. The legs of the bench are trestle style with hand carved background and a large applied hand carved ornamental carving, which just adds that bit of additional interest to the otherwise plain legs. The legs are joined by a shaped stretcher, which has lovely hand-carving as well. The bench is supported on stepped molded feet. This is truly a gorgeous piece of art for any home or office.
