This Settle is from the period of the Restoration of the English monarchy under the House of Stuart monarch, after the English Civil War. The Settle has a three paneled back with original period carving, the top is carved with a frieze of stylized pinwheel devices, with also intersect each panel. Each panel is deeply carved with stylized flowers and leaves. It comes with twin armrests and is raised on turned legs joined with a stretcher at each end.
