Outer measurements of bench: Height of 21.5” x width of 25” x depth of 20”. Antique George II Bench in the Chippendale Style, mid 1700. Purchased in 2019 at auction in Ireland. Completely hand carved frame, professionally and traditionally restored in 2020 with handstitched, tacked horsehair padding. Show fabric is 18th c Flemish tapestry. Decoratively carved ball-and-claw feet. At each knee, uniquely carved layers of lozenges with acanthus leaves around an oval cabochon.
