Beautiful hand-carved stool or bench made by the Ashanti Tribe of Ghana. It's carved from one piece of wood and has great openwork which is a learned skill over many generations. They are also known as the Asante Tribe and they were the largest and most powerful of a series of states formed in southern Ghana by people known as the Akan.
