Bench Attributed To Christian Durupt For La Plagne, 1960s

Chairish

$1,802

Solid pine bench by Christian Durupt, designed for the Courchevel resort in the 1960s. The bench consists of a thick rectangular seat resting on straight legs, with a solid backrest forming a continuous linear element. The design is intentionally simple and functional, highlighting the material, the generous proportions, and the natural grain of the wood. The overall effect evokes robust furniture, designed for everyday use, characteristic of certain French designs from the 1970s. Seat height: 46 cm France, circa 1960. This piece is attributed to the mentioned designer/maker. It has no attribution mark and no official proof of authenticity, however it is well documented in design history. I take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
