This rustic Chinese bench is simply designed with clean lines and little decoration. Dated to the mid-19th century, the lightweight bench would have been a casual form of everyday seating, placed beside a kitchen table or outdoors in the sunny courtyard. Crafted of cypress with mortise-and-tenon joinery, the bench has a narrow top with a subtle beaded trim, supported by thin, splayed legs linked with double stretchers. The original lacquered finish has faded with time for a lovely antique patina, further textured with wabi-sabi marks that hint at its many years of use. Additional Dimensions: Seat: 4.75"D
