We have been unable to find another one like it! When we first ran across this piece, it was just a wooden frame with a piece of glass sitting loosely on top of the heads in the place a coffee/cocktail table would typically sit. As awkward as it looked as a coffee table, we still knew it was something magnificent. We brought it home to our master furniture refinisher who knew immediately knew it had been a bench in its previous life and worked meticulously hard to restore it as such: The original finish is still intact (a good cleaning revealed that it was in great shape), it has all new upholstery and foam, it has a contoured bench seat with cotton weave fabric and double-welt trim. It has been treated with Scotchguard to protect the integrity of the fabric from stains. The wood finish has very little damage, only light scratches and a few "worn" places. The overall height is 23", length is 39.5, depth is 26.25", seat height is 17.5", seat length is 33" and seat diameter is 22". The previous owner had purchased it as a shell from an antiques dealer in New York City in the 1980's and it lived in her home in Beaufort, South Carolina since then. There is still a remnant of the dealer's sticker on the underside.
