Really stunning bench with cerused wood finish. Carved crossed swords serve as legs. Polished cotton upholstery appears to be original, and because of that. I'd date this piece to the late 1970s-- early 1980s. Construction appears to be high quality, sturdy and in excellent condition. One sword hilt has some minor damage. (looks like a puppy gnawed on it, honestly! See photos.) The upholstery had been covered over with other fabric, and had been tacked in place with small nails around the cording. The top layer was removed, so some minor spots where the nails were removed are visible in the cording upon close inspection. No unraveling due to this evident. The wood frame is 16.5" tall, with the foam and upholstery adding 3.5" for a total height of 20".
