Exclusively American, a late Federal, circa 1835, so-called mammy's bench with rockers in a brilliant old honey maple finish. Originally, there was a railing that slipped in across the front of the seat to hold the baby while mother gently rocked the bench /cradle. A rare item, for sure, and a cause for constant compliments among your guests. Use it as a rocker or put it at the foot of the bed to hold extra blankets.
