Bench in veneered plywood from the Mobili Sintetici collection. The basics of carpentry involve the mechanical and manual processing of wood, commonly in board-format where the most simple and fundamental processes are straight and inclined square cuts, veneering and surface and edge finishing. The combination of this basic material format and the intention to create objects of character through extremely simpleand common carpentry are the building blocks of Mobili Sintetici. Having decided to simplify the production to a few elementary processes, we worked on the volume of the object, trying to attribute a decorative and characteristic value through the volume itself. The large volumes are an opportunity to appreciate the carpentry through the precision of the surface details and edgings, making them the most decorative aspect of the object. The objects allude to a robotic imagerywith vague anthropomorphic features. They do not seem to come from a traditional production but rather the result of a process of synthesis carried out in a workshop. The volumes are interlocked and assembled with accurate precision and are the base of the various forms that make up the collection.Veneered plywood panels are sectioned in a multitude of modular sizes and pieces , with borders joined together from 45° diagonal slices. The many modular pieces of wood in perfect geometric shape are the building blocks of Mobili Sintetici.MATERIALSpre-composite veneered plywoodFINISHEStransparent varnished briar effecttransparent varnished natural wood effect
