While its more austere predecessor - with wooden slat seat - was designed by George Nelson to discourage guests from lingering in his office, the comfortable Nelson Cane Bench (1952) is sure to encourage any visitor to stay. Offering a pleasing mix of materials, the richly textured cane is surrounded by a wood frame, and stands on metal legs.
