This is a wonderful and historically important portfolio collection of 35 separate plates assembled by Charles Normand and published in the German language in Berlin. (Note there were originally 36 plates but plate 22 is missing.). These plates are highly detailed engravings of furniture, interior designs, and decorations prepared by the leading expert on French Empire design in the early to middle part of the 19th century. There is some damage to front cover, back cover and binder. However, it is still tied together with the original portfolio ribbon.
