This tall antique English mission style five-stack wooden lawyer or barrister bookcase cabinet is from the early 1900s. Expertly handcrafted from rift sawn white oak wood, this tall, modular bookshelf has a unique format with three smaller stepback upper shelves over two larger lower shelves. Four cabinet shelves feature wood-framed glass doors and one with wooden panel door all with original metal knobs that open by pulling up and sliding back using a patented lift and recess closure mechanism. This bookcase disassembles into seven individual pieces including separate top and block foot base. Apparently unlabeled but with English construction detailing. CONDITION Very good vintage antique condition with wear consistent with age and use. A few back panels are replaced. DIMENSIONS W 34.5" x D 12.25" x H 73"
