Antique Oregon Pine Bookcase by Martin Nyrop for Rud Rasmussen, Denmark 1905. Tall and impressive Danish bookcase with double door cabinet underneath i solid oregon pine with wonderful authentic warm patina. Designed by architect Martin Nyrop and manufactured by cabinetmaker Rud Rasmussen in 1905. This cabinet was a part of the interior of Copenhagen City Hall where Nyrop designed both building and furniture. The style is Danish Art Nouveau also referred to as National Romantic style or "Skønvirke". Typical Scandinavian design from the period. Three height adjustable shelves plus one height adjustable inside cabinet. Cabinet door with original lock. Keyhole plates are not original. Key included. Note the hand carved trim at the top and the visible joints with an X in the middle. Lots of authentic wear that can only be achieved over 120 years. The bookcase will stand tall and stable for another 120 years. Makers mark on back and an numbered emblem with at the top. Wear consistent with age and use. Nicks and scratches. Stable. This piece has an attribution mark, I am sure that it is completely authentic and take full responsibility for any authenticity issues arising from misattribution
