Elegant and rare large open mahogany bookcase from the 18th century English Georgian period. A very beautiful and uncommon large model. Indeed, tall, open bookcases are rare. We only come across one like it about once every five years. It rests on a plinth, which is an elegant touch. Beautifully carved cornice, typical of Georgian furniture. Well-proportioned with simple lines. Original shelves. The shelf height can be adjusted with a rack and pinion system. Beautiful mahogany with a lovely flame pattern. In superb condition with a beautiful patina. The bookcase is in three sections.
