Empire period bookcase, in flamed mahogany veneer on solid oak body.The two glass doors are framed with pearled gilt bronze baguettes and flanked by round columns with Corinthian capitals in chiseled gilt bronze. The upper frieze is decorated with an imperial eagle with outstretched wings in a central position, accompanied by foliage scrolls and classical female figures at the corners of the cornice. The plinth receives a garland of laurel leaves in gilded bronze; the keyholes, in openwork bronze, complete the set of bronzes. The natural oak interior accommodates four modular shelves with a depth of 29.5 cm, in impeccable condition. The piece of furniture has been completely restored with traditional buffer varnish. Dimensions: H. 245 cm × W. 155 cm. Weight approx. 100kg – We offer a selection of our items, the majority in perfect original condition or restored by our artisan cabinetmakers - upholsterers and gilders.
