A pair of cast iron Cape Cod fisherman bookends. The fisherman smokes a pipe and is reading the newspaper ‘the I&M’. Engraved on the back; "Cape Cod Fisherman, Copy Right 1928�� with the Connecticut Foundry mark. The Connecticut Foundry was established in 1919 after the building burned down and was rebuilt in 1918. The company made a wide variety of items of cast iron, from range oil burners, piston-ring moldings and lawn mower parts to bookends and decorative plaques.
