"Zigzag" is a low bookcase, designed by Konstantin Grcic and manufactured by Driade, featuring structure in bronze painted steel and oak veneered shelves. Bookends in sheet metal steel finished with epoxy paint available in the following colors: white, black, fluorescent orange or polished stainless steel with a mirror finish. Bookends are not included and their placement is purely indicative. Indoor use only.DIMENSIONS: D. 13.3", W. 62.9", H. 34.6"The shelf's zigzag shaped structure is simple and fresh; the color palette for the metal work - black, white, bronze and polished stainless steel - is complemented by two kinds of wooden shelves, in oak or American walnut. The clip-on bookends are available in colors matching all the other metal parts or veneered in the same woods as the shelves. An additional and fluorescent orange color enriches the bookends proposal.ZigZag is available in a high or low version and can be easily assembled without any tools.KONSTANTIN GRCIC was born in Munich in 1965. He apprenticed as a cabinet maker at John Makepeace School in the UK from 1985-1987. In 1990 he earned a MA in Industrial Design at the Royal College of Art in London. He founded Konstantin Grcic Industrial Design (KGID) in 1991. The office specializes in various fields of design ranging from furniture and Industrial products to exhibition design and architecture related work. KGID is working for some leading names of the design industry. Many of their products have received international design awards and form part of the permanent collections of the world's most prestigious museums. Grcic defines function in human terms, combining formal strictness with considerable mental acuity and humour. Each of his products is characterized by a careful research into the history of design and architecture and his passion for technology and materials. Known for paired down-down pieces, Grcic is often called a Minimalist but the designer himself prefers to speak of simplicity.
