19th Century French Renaissance Buffet is ideal for the Old World decor! Hand-crafted and carved from old-growth oak, it features a rugged, intricate design including carved edging all around the plank top and completely dominating the facade. A pair of drawers appear at the top, each framed by rectangular rosettes and carved with foliates and lions' heads that serve as the drawer pulls. The cabinet doors below, however, command attention, framed by a brace of tapered, fluted and turned columns on each corner. The full relief carving on the left door depicts a successful grape harvest, while the right depicts the wheat harvest, with multiple meanings embedded in the sculpture including allusions to bread and wine. Bold base moldings wrap around the casework below supported by bun feet. Very useful storage awaits inside, only adding to the allure.
