Alsatian sideboard in stained solid wood, circa 17th century, circa 1650 The projecting front opens with two large doors and six drawers, all framed by three twisted columns topped with Corinthian capitals. The rich ornamentation of the guilloché frames and superb relief carvings is noteworthy. The upper section appears slightly narrower, created by two stylized dolphins. The piece rests on three bun feet set beneath a notched cornice with an overhanging edge. The exceptional quality of the carvings that enhance the architecture of this remarkable antique Alsatian piece should be noted. H 131 x W 160 x D 50 cm
