An Italian beautifully-carved walnut cabinet from the early 19th century, possibly older. This antique walnut buffet from Italy features a rectangular-shaped top with a carved egg-n-dart trim under it's perimeter edges. Raised acanthus leaf carvings flank the two small drawers at the upper front, and each side being flanked with an outer rounded-column side post and a secondary fluted pilaster carved along each door side. The pair of recessed-panel doors are fitted with a wooden knob pull at their centers, and open to a shelf on the inside, maximizing the storage potential of this piece. This chest is presented upon a flattened base with decorative trim and stacked molding. The walnut wood is warm and has a lovely old patina, a distinctive showing of it's age and history.
