A French wooden buffet console, with really nice marble top, from the 19th century. This antique chest from France (just over four feet in length) features a rectangular-shaped black marble top with pronounced and canted front corners, which rests atop a cleanly designed case that houses a single, long drawer within its frieze, and a pair of recessed paneled doors flanked within canted side posts, and a straight line skirt. This cabinet is presented upon four tapering squared legs. The drawer is fitted with a pair of brass rectangular bail pulls with an escutcheon at center, and has a rectangular brass outline about the perimeter. The inside of this cabinet has a shelf set along the mid-section for storage. The marble is quite nice; it is black with white and grey veining. This 19th century French buffet cabinet, with its beautiful wood grain and contrasting marble top, will be a lovely decorative piece your home, offering storage within and a place for desired objects to be prominently displayed atop.
