Italian Painted Credenza From Tuscany Mid 18th Century

Chairish

$3,000

Credenza / stipo hand-made in Italy in the mid 1700s using walnut and pegged construction. The credenza is very simple and belongs to the Italian pieces considered of “Arte povera”, in other words, piece that were made and used by common people in their homes and farm homes. The stipo (cabinet) features two doors still help by the original hinges and is divided internally by two shelves. The inside is very spacious and will provide plenty of storage. The top is made of multiple boards with ogee edges. The baseboard is a simple piece of hand-carved molding sitting on hand-carved block feet and scalloped molding. Overall this is a really cute, small but spacious cabinet that will bring a splash of color wherever it is placed.
