Early 19th century English mahogany tilt-top tea table, circa 1820, featuring a classic pedestal base and finely hand-carved detailing. The table rests on a pedestal with fluted and spiral-fluted carving, terminating in hand-carved ball and claw feet with acanthus leaves carved on the knees. The solid mahogany top is finished with hand-carved rim molding, adding refinement to the overall form. The underside retains its original cast iron and brass tilt-top latch, allowing the top to be raised vertically for storage when not in use. The base construction includes dovetail leg joinery that has been repaired. A handsome and traditional English tea table that showcases the craftsmanship and elegance characteristic of early 19th century design.
