Fine Chester County PA Cherry Federal Snake-Leg Candle Stand, Circa 1790-1810 An exceptional Federal period candle stand in cherry, found in Chester County, Pennsylvania, and most likely made there, circa 1790-1810. This is a 100% untouched, original as-found example — no restorations or repairs of any kind, exactly as it left the maker's shop over two centuries ago. The stand features a beautifully turned central shaft with ring and baluster detailing, supporting a single-board cherry top with an applied cockbeaded edge. The tripod base displays graceful scalloped cutouts and slender snake-form legs, terminating in pad feet. The single-board top shows minor, expected shrinkage from age, and the pad feet show honest wear marks from two centuries of use — details we've intentionally left untouched rather than restored, preserving the piece's complete originality. For collectors of American Federal furniture, an untouched surface like this is increasingly rare and highly desirable — a true time capsule of period craftsmanship. Dimensions: 17 1/2"W x 18"D top, 27 1/4"H Condition: 100% original, untouched, as-found condition. No restorations or repairs. Minor age-related shrinkage to the top (normal and expected). Honest use and wear marks throughout, including to the pad feet, intentionally left as found. A few small burn marks from age/use. Materials: Solid cherry
