Bougeoir La Tourette is a polished brushed bronze candle holder.‎ The sleek and unpretentious contours of the Bougeoir La Tourette candlestick, bring form to a small bronze sculpture that illuminates the home with elegance and functionality.‎ Designed by Le Corbusier for the Couvent de la Tourette, this candlestick is presented by Cassina as part of the Details Collection and will subsequently be available on the company’s e-commerce platform.‎ Created for the main altar of the church in the Sainte Marie de La Tourette monastery, designed by Le Corbusier between 1953 and 1961, the austere geometry of the Bougeoir La Tourette perfectly illustrates the style of this ecclesiastical architecture.‎ Today, in partnership with Fondation Le Corbusier, Cassina re-edits the Bougeoir La Tourette candlestick, maintaining the exquisite character of the original bronze that emphasizes the candlestick’s architecture.‎ In a crescendo of shapes, the candlestick expands upwards: a square and an inverted trapezoid, positioned one atop the other, form a structure above which the candle ascends.‎ Available in one size only, this candlestick is ideal for illuminating various rooms in the home.‎ It can be used in a variety of ways – as an elegant table centrepiece or an object to enliven the shelves of a bookcase or an entry table.‎ To ensure maximum authenticity, the Bulgarian red leather base of each candlestick is engraved with Cassina’s logo and the signature of Le Corbusier.‎ Materials: candlestick – polished brushed bronze, transparent protective coat; base in Bulgarian red Scozia leather.‎
