Mercury glass, one of the first art glass types, gets a loving tribute in the form of Chantilly. Artisans create the cylindrical shape from mouth-blown glass, carefully bending the top to create its signature flare. Then, they paint each piece by hand in silver to imitate the look of mercury glass, fire it, and lacquer it to seal in its luster.
