Gracious Style

The "Woman Mask" panel designed by René Lalique in 1935 was originally made of glass to decorate a fountain. It conveys all the imagination of its designer who was fascinated by women and nature. Both vintage and avant-garde, it reveals the face of a mysterious woman with delicate features, surrounded by aquatic fauna. Inspired by the famous design, the Masque de Femme Candleholders combine the purity of the crystal, the simplicity of the lines and the richness of the detail. These Pcs) with a both classic and contemporary beauty decorate interiors with style and originality to illuminate evening gatherings or private moments. Trained as a jeweler at the Ecole des Arts Decoratifs in Paris in the late 1880's, Rene Lalique gained recognition as an independent designer for some of the era's great jewelry houses including Cartier and Boucheron. Eventually, he turned to glassmaking, and his techniques were a triumph for the Art Deco movement. Every piece of Lalique is finely detailed and produced by hand in Alsace, France.
