Fairy tales evoke memories and feelings and are part of our everyday life. The Grimm brothers considered them to be a new elaboration of ancient myths that were preserved in the memory of people and passed down orally from one generation to the next. The tales are indeed a piece of magic that has remained unchanged over the centuries: each word, sound and intonation, each pause in the story has a specific role and all together they contribute to the establishment of a parallel universe where, enthralled by the same magic, storytellers and listeners come together. “Unique” moments to treasure and that can lead one to dream and fly with one’s fantasy.Once Upon A Time, the collection designed by Maurizio Galante & Tal Lancman, aims at joining the world of fairy tales and its very specific symbols with commonly employed symbols and objects for everyday use. A bridge between truth and fiction, between physics and imagination. Tiny marble objects whose shapes are absolutely recognisable: Pinocchio’s profile becomes an elegant candleholder in white Carrara marble with a brass Stand which, as it gets dark, makes the famous long-nosed puppet become a bit more sincere. The Once Upon A Time collection enriches the Selection d’Object, a line of small-sized objects launched last year by Opinion Ciatti, that includes small recognisable objects with a strong identity and never banal.
