Found in England. A superb and completely original late-Victorian tavern table bell candlestick. These charming combination pieces were once a familiar sight on the oak tables of English pubs and coaching inns: a tall brass socket to hold a taper candle for reading the slate or settling the bill by flickering light, and a suspended brass bell with side-wheel ringer and pull-chain clapper. This example is in untouched, honest condition with a rich, mellow century-plus patina that collectors prize. The bell rings clearly, the wheel turns smoothly, and the candle socket is undamaged. All parts are original; no repairs, no replacements, no polishing. Height: approx. 11 in. Base diameter: approx. 6 in.
