Highly decorative pair of candleholders that will not go unnoticed on any table setting. This is a pair of sculptural candlesticks, crafted in gilt brass casting around the mid–20th century. Resting on two scallop-shell–shaped bases, two dolphins—drawn from the imaginative world of Italian Baroque fantasy—rise upward, balancing two candle cups on the tips of their sea-serpent-like tails. As visible in the photos, this pair of candlesticks is in good vintage condition. Dating to the 1950s, they display a beautiful time-worn patina on the gilding.
