The Countervail Linear Suspension from Currey & Company is a retro charmer, adding a layered, vintage appeal to its surroundings. Designed by Clarence Mallari, it is secured by a rectangular canopy and two slim stems that drop to metal brackets. The lamping is escorted by panes of thick cast glass, with textural surfaces that enhance the chandelier’s glow. The mottled nature of the glass draws the eye, and each pane is uniquely fastened to an antique brass-finished metal frame via sophisticated screws, allowing each piece to be easily removed and rearranged, contributing to each fixture’s individuality. The cast glass shade plates and metal structure embody a transitional style with a touch of rustic modern elegance, creating a captivating ensemble with both form and function in mind.
