This is an exceptional antique Chinoiserie-style hardwood, brick-red lacquered center hall, occasional, or side table. The top has a plain lacquered circular center framed with bamboo stalks and leaves. It has a second-tier shelf carved with encircled lotus flowers, accentuated cabriole-style legs carved with bamboo details ending in scrolled toes, joined without nails or glue. It is a beautiful, dramatic oxblood red lacquer and could have originally come from a collection from Liberty C1900.
