$2,300

Title: Sculptural Table. Designer: After Emilio Terry. Manufacturer: John Widdicomb Design. Manufacture date: February 22, 2006. Model: JW4230. Material: Walnut burl, Indian rosewood, Circassian walnut, Maple burl, Macassar ebony. Origin: Grand Rapids, MI, USA. Description: Like the neoclassic designs of Emilio Terry, the French Architect and dreamer, this small sculptural table achieves great stylistic refinement. The circular top features an elaborate geometric inlay of walnut burl, Indian rosewood, and Circassian walnut set in a field of maple burl and banded with Macassar ebony. Four sculptural legs joined by an open basket intersect at the base, resting their up-turned curves on fine-pointed feet. The design is reminiscent of Continental furniture of the early 19th-Century. Measures: 29 (74 cm) D x 29 (74 cm) H inches. About the designer/style: Emilio Rene Terry y Sánchez (1890–1969), known as Emilio Terry was a French architect, artist, interior decorator and landscape designer of Cuban-Irish ancestry. Creating furniture, tapestries and objets d'art, he was influenced by the château de Chenonceau, acquired by his family, and he created a style that was at once classical and baroque, which he called the "Louis XVII style".
